Blendspace

BLENDSPACE

Today in our second session of Technology in Education class, we got introduced to Blendspace. Blendspace is an online course designing application platform which helps as an Educational Technology tool to integrate lesson planning in a much more easier and convenient manner by allowing users to organize any digital learning resource.present on the web into the lesson. Teachers can put up learning outcomes, learning resources, tests, videos, worksheets and everything in one place for students to access for each topic.

It can be used in a flipped classroom, blended learning, and project-based learning. Teachers can provide one on one feedback to students, facilitate their activities and students can engage in activities and work independently by exploring new resources. They can access Blendspace from all devices at any time, anywhere.

TES Resource tools provided such as Google Search, Youtube, Educreations, Google Drive, Dropbox, uploads from your computer, and more, can help you build a lesson quickly and without the hassle of printouts, USBs, pen drives and so on. It's built upon Cloud computing technology with unlimited storage space to save your documents, files, videos and everything. Navigating this website is pretty easy and the interface provided is user-friendly. All one needs to do is drag and drop, just simply start by clicking on the "new lesson", name the lesson and begin inserting and sequencing resources in the tile spaces.  You can insert documents for reading, pictures, videos, construct a quiz right then and there, add printing resources, websites for additional information, upload related files etc.  You do not need to be too tech-savvy in order to use this application and hence I would highly recommend all teachers to use this web technology tool in their classroom to create a less stressful and interactive environment.

Its time to say goodbye to old lesson planning methods of spending hours, wasting time and resources to gather up and print the material. Now you can access everything from anywhere and deliver the best course material to your students to enhance their knowledge and learning.

You can simply signup and sign-in with your Google account,  and even connect it with your Google Classroom. Once the lesson is created, teachers can easily share it on various social media platforms, email, website embed code or QR Code creation.

Even though there are many pros, the only con I came across was the fact that some resources take slightly more time to load which can cause time delay at times if the internet connection is not steady enough.
